This One is a Fighter - Get Knocked Down, But Get Back Up!

The phrase "get knocked down, get back up" is a popular saying about resilience and perseverance, emphasizing the importance of not giving up after a failure or setback. We have all had moments in our life where we needed to get back up after falling.  If you are feeling like you are down, remember these things.

-Focus on getting back up: The core message is that failure is inevitable, but what matters is your response to it.

-It's about trying one more time: The most certain way to succeed is often to keep trying after you've been knocked down repeatedly.

-Chances for growth: Facing challenges can be seen as an opportunity for learning, growth, and developing courage, and a greater appreciation for what you have.

-Humor and humility: A key part of getting back up is to maintain a sense of humor, shake things off, and not get stuck on failures.

-Focus on the next step: When things feel overwhelming, focus on the immediate future, like the next second, minute, or hour, and work from there.

I love the song The Fighter by Gym Class Heroes and Ryan Tedder (lead singer of One Republic). It's a song that can pump you up and keep you going. These lyrics do it for me:

Give 'em hell, turn their heads
Gonna live life 'til we're dead
Give me scars, give me pain
Then they'll say to me, say to me, say to me
There goes a fighter (oh)
There goes a fighter (oh)
Here comes a fighter (oh)
That's what they'll say to me, say to me
Say to me, this one's a fighter

Listen to the song. Go be a fighter today! Pick yourself up! Be the person you know you can be!
