Where was I in 2015? How did I miss the fact that Burger King had a Halloween Whopper with a black bun? Of course it never came back after 2015. Must be for a reason. I would say the biggest reason has to be it looks burnt. Sure it may not taste that way, but the way things look go a long ways. But wait.. Burger King has had other bun colors thru the years.
In 2018 the green bun came out. It was called the Nightmare King.
In 2023 they introduced the Spider-Verse Whopper with a red bun.
Then in 2024 Burger King had a purple bun for The Addams Family promotion. Now the purple bun at least looks a bit more appetizing than the black bun.
These are just a few of the very weird bun combinations that Burger has given us over the years. Do people really want or need this? I understand it's something different, so people order it for that reason. But do we really need different colored buns? If you do like these colored buns, then what else do you want? Blue buns?
