Interesting Pepsi Flavors - Do You Remember These?

Interesting Pepsi Flavors

Pepsi is my favorite soda of all time. There's no comparison for me.  I like others, but nothing compares to Pepsi.  Everyone has their own favorite and it seems to be what you grow up with. But recently I was thinking back to past Pepsi flavors. There's been some interesting ones over the years. Let's take a look:

Pepsi Maple Syrup - Now to be honest I have never tried this and had never heard of this before looking online.  This "Pepsi Maple Syrup Cola" was initially available through a social media giveaway but has since been offered for a limited time at IHOP restaurants as a standalone drink or a float. It combines maple syrup notes with Pepsi's classic caramel flavor profile.

Crystal Pepsi - Crystal Pepsi tasted like a lighter, less sweet version of regular Pepsi, with a crisp, clean flavor profile that sometimes included a subtle citrusy or pine note. It lacked the caramel coloring of traditional Pepsi, which gave it a unique, less acidic, and smoother taste compared to its brown counterpart. It originally came out in 1992 and has had sporadic limited releases since 2016. This one I have tried. It's not bad, similar to 7up I thought.

Pepsi A.M. - This was a Pepsi product from 1989-1990 designed as a morning soda with about 28% more caffeine than regular Pepsi. It was test-marketed to compete with coffee but failed due to low sales, as consumers were not receptive to drinking soda in the morning, and it faced issues with taste and marketing support. I never tried this one. But I can say I don't really see the need for a Pepsi to drink too early in the morning.

Pepsi Ice Cucumber - Pepsi Ice Cucumber was a Pepsi flavor that was exclusively released only in Japan in 2007 in stores as a limited edition soda for the Summer of 2007.  It was a variant of Pepsi with a green color and a cucumber taste. I don't know about you, but I'm glad this one never hit the States. Doesn't sound great.

Pepsi Blue - Now, this one I remember and have tasted.  It was a berry-flavored soft drink produced by Pepsi and was marketed as a "Berry Cola Fusion".  It was initially sold from 2002 to 2004 in the United States and Canada (with a limited return in 2021) and was also sold in several Asian markets. The taste of this one wasn't too bad.  It had more of that sugary Mountain Dew taste though.

Pepsi Wild Bunch - In 1991 Pepsi came out with 3 Wild Bunch flavors. Tropical Chill, Strawberry Burst and Raging Razzberry. They tried to add some flavoring to the original Pepsi taste and it didn't go over very well, lasting only a year.

Pepsi Fire - In 2017 Pepsi Fire was released in the U.S.  It gave you Pepsi with a cinnamon taste. This one wasn't horrible. But not great either. It was not popular at all and didn't last very long.

Pepsi Peeps - Pepsi with marshmallow flavoring. It was released as a limited edition sweepstakes in collaboration with Peeps marshmallow treats for the 2021 Easter season. In February 2023, it was re-released in stores for a limited time.

Pepsi Kona - Another attempt at more of a morning beverage for Pepsi. This one tasting like coffee.  It was test-marketed in Philadelphia during May 1996 until 1997, which due to low sales never led to a full release.

So these are just a few of the interesting flavors Pepsi has come out with over the years.  I say just stick with Pepsi. It tastes good and has been popular for over 100 years. But, here is my question? What, if any, Pepsi flavor would you like to see come back or tried? Pickle Pepsi? Lol. Let's see what the future brings?!
