So I just got done watching A House of Dynamite on Netflix. It stars Rebecca Ferguson, Idris Elba and Gabriel Basso (from The Night Agent). Now, I will admit when I saw this list of stars I was excited. Especially Gabriel Basso who stars in The Night Agent series. He is wonderful in that series. Plus I had just watched Idris Elba in Hijack (on Apple TV+), which was a superb show! So this was gonna be great, right?
Well, let's tell you what A House of Dynamite is about. A House of Dynamite is a new Netflix thriller about a nuclear missile launch toward the United States and the ensuing high-stakes race against time to determine the source and how to respond. The film explores the scenario from multiple perspectives over the course of 18 minutes, including those in the White House Situation Room, the Strategic Command, and the President.
So the premise of the movie sounds good. The running time on the movie is 1 hour 52 minutes. And I will tell you that I really liked the movie for about 95 percent of it. It was engaging, I thought the acting was good and I really wanted to see what would happen. Then it ended...... And nothing happened. It just stops. The movie, which should have kept going to show what happens and the response was over. So I felt like a just wasted almost 2 hours of my life waiting to see a conclusion that never happens. Seriously don't waste your time. Good acting, but horrible end of a storyline.
Out of 10 Popcorn Kernels, I give it a 2.
