When people ask me my favorite reality competition television show, my first answer is Survivor, But what's second? The Traitors! So what is The Traitors? Well, there are different versions out there, but let's first talk about my favorite, the American version:
Twenty contestants, a mix of famous faces and everyday Americans, play the ultimate murder mystery game. Hosted by award-winning actor Alan Cumming at an ancient castle in Scotland, they will work together on exhilarating missions to build a prize fund worth up to $250,000. But hidden amongst the Faithful contestants are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful and claim the prize for themselves. Under the cover of darkness, the Traitors will murder the Faithful one by one in a treacherous spree while the players try to uncover the Traitors and banish them from the game. If the Faithful contestants banish all the Traitors, they will share the prize fund, but if a Traitor makes it to the end, they will steal all the money.
One of the things I really like about the show is you see a mix of people from different reality shows. And of course there are lots of famous Survivor alum that have been on the show. Most recently with four players—Rob "Boston Rob" Mariano, Tony Vlachos, Jeremy Collins, and Carolyn Wiger—in season 3. Other Survivor alumni include Cirie Fields in season 1, Sandra Diaz-Twine and Parvati Shallow in season 2. Seasons 4 is also set to feature Survivor players Rob Cesternino and Natalie Anderson. On top of that you see contestants from The Challenge, Real Housewives, Big Brother and more!
So why not watch it? There really isn't reason not to!
