Anthony Bourdain - Read and Watch

Anthony Bourdain was a chef, a writer and a TV host that I was a big fan of thru the 2000’s. I started off by watching his show No Reservations (2005-2012) and then watched Parts Unknown (2013-2018) until his suicide during the filming of that show in June of 2018. During that time I also read several of his books as well. The coolest thing about Anthony Bourdain was he travelled and showed me what the world looked like in different areas and countries that I had no idea about. He would often times, not only eat at famous chef’s restaurants around the world, but would also get local grub in each area to see how they really ate there. The thing about his TV show was it was very calming. I could have it on in the background and I would learn something and just feel a calm feeling by watching. Prison Break - A Reboot is Coming

Prison Break which originally came out in 2005 on FOX was 4 seasons long and lasted until 2009. Then in 2017 a revival season came out, which included most of the main cast. Now the thing about Prison Break is I never watched it originally. This past Summer my son and I started watching it on Netflix and got hooked. The first season, which was the best of the series, got us hooked and for my teenage son to like a show that came out before he was born was saying something. So what was Prison Break about: Prison Break was a show about structural engineer Michael Scofield's plan to break his wrongly convicted brother, Lincoln Burrows, out of a maximum-security prison before his execution. To do this, Michael gets himself incarcerated at the same prison, Fox River State Penitentiary, by committing a bank robbery. Hardee's California Raisins: Do You Remember?

Do you remember the California Raisin figurines from Hardee's in the 1980's? If you answered yes, you must be older like me. A 9 year old version of myself would beg my parents to take me to Hardee's just to get the cool figurines. For only $0.99, raisin figurines were offered with the purchase of either two of the sweet biscuits or another dessert. Looking back at it now I wonder what my kids would think of these figures. Probably they would think they are so dumb. But to me.... it was so cool. Let's take a look back at this little toy you could get at Hardee's. Hardee's released its California Raisins figurines in 1987, a year after the characters first appeared in commercials. These collectible toys were part of a promotion for Hardee's cinnamon 'n' raisin biscuits. Mount Everest: Could I?

Mount Everest has always been one of those dreams of mine. I grew up watching shows of people trying to climb Mount Everest with some succeeding and many others falling short. Everest: Beyond The Limit was the show that really got me interested in the adventure. The show followed teams of climbers and Sherpas (who are the real heroes of the expeditions) in their attempt to summit Mount Everest. Now if you have no idea what Mount Everest is or why someone would want to climb it, here is a little info. Mount Everest is Earth's highest mountain, situated on the border of Nepal and China, with an official height of 29,031.7 ft. It is still growing due to tectonic plate movement, while its summit is a harsh "death zone" with thin air and extreme cold. The mountain has local names like Sagarmatha (in Nepal) and Chomolungma (in Tibet) and was named after Sir George Everest. Interesting enough Sir George Everest never climbed the mountain. Eating 6 Saltine Crackers in a Minute - How Hard Could It Be?

How hard can it be to eat 6 saltine crackers in a minute. Doesn't sound hard. Of course you have to do it without any liquids. So can't down water after each one. So I imagine your mouth would get pretty dried out. But could I do it? Eating saltine crackers without water is hard because they quickly absorb saliva, turning them into a dry, crumbly mass that is difficult to swallow. The crackers are a simple starch, and without saliva to lubricate and break them down, they become like chewing paper and can be difficult to move down the throat. According to Guinness World Records the most eaten was 6 officially. But I saw many other videos out there where people got up to 12 crackers eaten in a minute. But I will stick with trying to go for 6 and see if I can even do that. Well here we go:

Play Dirty - Movie Review

Play Dirty, starring Mark Wahlberg, came out on Prime Video on October 1st. From first glance it looked liked it would be a good movie. It also stars LaKeith Stanfield and Rosa Salazar, who I had seen in other movies and liked. So far, so good. So what is it about? Play Dirty is a 2025 action-heist movie about a professional thief named Parker (Mark Wahlberg) who gets drawn into the biggest heist of his life after being betrayed by a crew member. The film follows Parker and his new, makeshift team as they take on the New York mob, a dictator, and a billionaire industrialist to steal a valuable treasure, blending action and comedy. A heist movie. Which is typically a sign of a movie I would enjoy. I started watching and realized it was not that great of a script. The action moves in and out and I found myself bored 30 minutes in. I gave it a chance and kept watching. It wasn't the worst movie ever, by any means. But, it just seemed like I was watching a movie with big stars...

Sherlock: Except No Others

Except no others. Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Martin Freeman (Dr. Watson) is the best version of the Sherlock Holmes. By far, no contest! Yes, Robert Downey Jr. has a movie version that put out two films, but that one isn't on the same level. So the great thing about Sherlock is it's based in present time. Which to a modern watcher makes it so much better. So if you aren't familiar with Sherlock at all, what's it about? In this contemporary version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective stories, Dr. John Watson is a war vet just home from Afghanistan. He meets the brilliant but eccentric Sherlock Holmes when the latter, who serves as a consultant to Scotland Yard, advertises for a flatmate. Hijack - A Great Thriller on Apple TV+

So my son came to me and said he really wanted to see a show called Hijack on Apple TV+. He said he saw some TikTok posts about it and it looked really cool. Now, I'm not a TikTok person, but my son said he wanted to watch a show with me. That's all it took. I've had subscriptions to Apple TV+ before, but I typically get it once or twice a year and watch all the shows I want to watch. So paying $12.99 for one month is not bad at all. So as soon as he said that, I paid for a month and we were off to the races. Now, typically you watch a show like this over several days or weeks. I mean it's only 7 episodes. Right? Wrong! We started it on a Friday evening and finished Saturday by noon. It was kind of addictive. Once an episode was over, I wanted to keep watching to see what would happen.
